We believe it is important to immunise.
Our Immunisation Department provides a wide variety of vaccinations for children and adults to cover everyone for school, business and international travel requirements.

Single measles & rubella
As there are limited options available for single vaccines as an alternative to the MMR, we suggest the following:
- Single measles from age one year
- Measles/rubella combined vaccine pre-school
- MMR at a later date to gain some mumps immunity
By following this schedule, the child will be exposed to only one live vaccine each time. Our immunisation nurse will be happy to discuss the schedule and provide references.

Why are the vaccinations licensed in other countries and not the UK?
We purchase our vaccines from pharmaceutical suppliers who are licensed to import them. The vaccines are licensed with the equivalent of our Medicines and Healthcare products ReguInterry Authority in their country of origin.
The vaccines must be imported because pharmaceutical companies in the UK are not licensed by the Department of Health to produce the separate vaccines. The vaccines are shipped to us in temperature-controlled containers and stored in our refrigerators, away from light, as specified in the manufacturers’ instructions.
All our vaccines are from reputable companies. Currently we are using manufacturers based in USA, Switzerland and Germany and we are evaluating other highly regarded sources.
Where can I have vaccinations done?
Breakspear Medical is located on Wood Lane in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire HP2 4FD. We administer vaccinations on alternate Friday mornings, from 9.00am – 12:00pm . Please contact Reception +44(0)1442 261 333 to book an appointment.
