Breakspear Medical is pleased to offer the following blood tests & test kits (UK RESIDENTS ONLY):

COVID-19 at-home antibody test kit
(at-home test)
Antibody testing can detect whether a person has been infected previously or has a vaccine-induced immune response.
We offer the TDL Covid-19 (ROCHE Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2-S) antibody at-home test kit, which is CE marked IVD for Covid for home use and approved by the MHRA. This test will determine if you have Covid-19 antibodies, a sign that your body has previously been infected with this coronavirus. This antibody test has a specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 97.4%
Most patients who recover from coronavirus have been found to produce antibodies, but it is not yet known if an individual with a positive result showing presence of IgG/IgM levels following being infected with SARS-CoV-2 will be protected, either fully or partially from future infection, or for how long protective immunity may last.
For accurate results, this test must be taken at least 14 days after symptoms occur or post-vaccination. This is because our immune systems produce IgG antibodies 14 days or more after symptoms started, so this test will not provide an accurate result if the sample is taken too soon.
Please note: if you have undergone plasma infusion, are immunocompromised or have secondary immunodeficiency this test must be interpreted with caution.
The COVID-19 At-home Antibody Test is available for £68 (including postage) & includes:
- CE marked Roche assay (Total IgG/IgM)
- The sealed kit includes Royal Mail Track 24 Response mailer and tracking label
- Sample taking instructions
- Your results, which will be emailed to you by us 2-4 days later
**UK residents only**

COVID-19 Spike antibody tests
(by appointment only)
Antibody testing can detect whether a person has been infected previously or has a vaccine-induced immune response.
We offer a reliable UKAS-accredited laboratory blood test to find out if you have Covid-19 (ROCHE Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2-S) antibodies, a sign that your body has previously been infected with this coronavirus. This antibody test, which has a CE mark, a specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 97.4%, is the same test as one of those used by the NHS.

Vitamin D tests
(at-home test)
Take a simple and reliable UKAS-accredited at-home test to find out if you are deficient in vitamin D, which is prevalent in severe Covid-19 cases.
It is estimated that in the UK, 20% of adults and 16% of children between the ages of 11 and 18 years are estimated to be deficient in vitamin D.
While vitamin D deficiencies are common, older adults and darker skinned people are more susceptible.
If you have been found to be deficient, a telephone consultation can be arranged to discuss options such as ergocalciferol injection or higher-concentration supplements.
The Vitamin D At-home Test Kit is available for £56. Your at-home kit will be posted to you & includes:
- a sterile finger prick blood collection device
- a pathology form
- a freepost envelope to send your sample to the laboratory
Your results will be emailed to you by us 2-4 days after you have posted your sample to the laboratory.
**UK residents only**
