Breakspear Hospital has been providing a steady supply of the alternative to the combined MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine ever since it was introduced in 1988.
We offer the individual vaccinations for measles, rubella and mumps as well as other mercury-free immunisations because
we believe you should have the right to choose what is best for you and your
child.
We can provide and administer the separate MMR vaccinations at suitable intervals; all you have to do is book an appointment by simply calling our dedicated individual MMR appointment line at 01442 867 280. You don't need an NHS referral or medical insurance.
A child/adult should become immune to all 3 diseases
with the combined MMR vaccine, but this includes the risk of overburdening
his or her immune system, which could lead to serious side effects,
including new food sensitivities and/or bowel disease. Giving the measles, rubella and
mumps vaccines separately is reducing the burden on the immune system
and reducing the risk of complications.
In our own experience we have seen no adverse reactions using the individual vaccinations, except some very mild responses such as a slight fever or rash.
We guarantee that all our vaccinations are supplied only by internationally-recognised, reputable European and American companies and will be administered by a member of our specialist medical team.
We are currently recommending measles as the first vaccination, followed by rubella and then mumps. However, when you are booking your first appointment, you may wish to discuss the best sequence vaccinations which may vary with your place of residence.
Breakspear Hospital is not experiencing any shortages on our supply of the separate vaccinations.
We also offer measles, rubella and mumps booster shots. It is recommended that personnel working in health care and girls in their early teens, who have been advised to have a rubella booster, consider having the individual rubella vaccine. (The NHS offers only the 3 in 1 MMR vaccine.)
Charges for individual vaccines are payable on the day of the appointment. Measles and
Rubella vaccinations are £90 each and the Mumps vaccination is £120. If all 3 vaccines are paid for in advance during the first visit, you pay only £270.* We accept cash, debit card or credit card.
If you suspect that you/your child has a sensitivity or reaction to eggs, it is best to embark on a milk and/or egg desensitising programme prior to receiving the single vaccinations of measles, rubella and mumps. Mumps vaccines for both single and MMR triple vaccinations are cultured on chick embryo cell cultures.
Please print out the requiredVaccination/Immunisation form and complete before the first visit. For children, along with these forms, you will need to sign a Child vaccination/ Immunisation/Blood Test Consent Form.
If you are unable to print the Special Report on MMR Vaccinations or the individual MMR forms from this website, please complete this on-line request form and we will snail mail this information to you.
Note:It is Breakspear Hospital’s strict policy not to conduct any clinical procedures without the supervision of an appropriate physician.
