Allergies and sensitivities can affect any system of the body, causing it to function inadequately.
A large number of people with food allergies cannot accept the modern diet, which is repetitive and lacking in variety. Stone Age man would eat everything that he could catch or find that was edible. All non-poisonous plant matter was eaten, from the roots at the bottom to the buds at the top, taking in stems, leaves, fruits, berries and nuts. Equally, all animals were eaten, including worms, insects, bugs and slugs to fish, frogs, snakes, birds and mammals. This all lead to unavoidable variety, freshness (as there was no refrigeration) and only seasonal exposure to fruits and vegetables. Also of course, Stone Age man did not have to deal with exposure to petrochemical additives, food colourings, artificial flavours, preservatives, antioxidants, emulsifiers and stabilisers.
Unlike the diet of our ancient ancestors, the modern western diet usually gives high daily levels of milk and milk products, wheat and wheat products, egg, citrus fruits, tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar and additives. These particular foods are the commonest cause of food allergy. The body cannot cope with an excessive amount or too much repetition of any one food and, when exposed, may show allergic symptoms.
The modern diet is not providing the body with what it needs to function properly and, over time, this can lead to it malfunctioning.
We must also consider the treated water we drink and polluted air that we breathe and realise that these are having a detrimental effect on our body every day.
We at Breakspear can help repair the damage allergies and environment have done by reducing the load on the immune system caused by allergies and sensitivities, providing professional advice on diet, and prescribing a nutritional supplement regime.
